It was a BEAUTIFUL day outside - sunny, wind blowing, harp music being played. Cale (3 years old) is sitting on my right, Caelan (4 1/2 years old) on my left (very strategic...that was for "containment").
Cale - "Daddy, is this Heaven?"
Dad (thinking, "awww, that is so sweet..") - "No buddy. This isn't heav..."
Caelan (interupting from across my lap...and very matter-of-factly) - "No....This is hell!"
I wasn't sure what do say or do, other than laugh. In some ways, it felt like a bit of both.
From the mouths of babes! What a touching story. Thank you for sharing. Anastasha's monument is so beautiful. We are still in the process of finalizing the design of Karinne's. I just couldn't make myself think about that part ahead of time. I'm sure it is a good feeling to have it there already though.
ReplyDeleteVery touching stories! Always amazed at how well children put things even beyond their years. (I would have laughed too had our kids said the same thing)
ReplyDeleteI like the wording you picked for her marker, beautiful words.
I just love that story, kids are just amazing. The marker is so beautiful, every single time I see that date it makes my heart skip. Your family is always in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteGreat story! The marker is beautiful and you & Tonya did a wondeful job on the wording. Hugs & kisses for you all!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, her monument is so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes!!!! I love it.
